The Avengers, a new Phineas and Ferb movie and Tron are all coming to Disney Channels Worldwide.
Gary Marsh, president of entertainment and chief creative officer for Disney Channels Worldwide, unveiled its kids upfront presentation of the projects coming to Disney Channel and Disney XD in 2010 and 2011.
Among the animated fare in the announcement:
‘ Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension, a new movie based on the top-rated animated series for kids and tweens, on Disney XD and Disney Channel. Summer 2011.
‘ The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, a new series from Marvel Animation featuring Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Giant Man and Wasp, on Disney XD. A 20-part microseries starting in fall 2010 will lead into the premiere of a 52-episode series.
‘ Fish Hooks, a new animated series on Disney Channel. Set for fall 2010.
‘ Handy Manny Big Race, new animated Playhouse Disney primetime special on Disney Channel. Set to air March 20 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
‘ Handy Manny Big Construction Job, a new animated Playhouse Disney series on Disney Channel. Set for fall 2010.
‘ Jake and the Never Land Pirates, a new animated Playhouse Disney series on Disney Channel. Will premiere within the next year.
‘ Mickey Mousekercize, a new animated Playhouse Disney short-form series on Disney Channel, set for November 2010.
‘ Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally, new animated Playhouse Disney primetime special on Disney Channel. Set for fall 2010.
There also is a new Tron animated series in development, based on the upcoming Tron Legacy feature film. The series would be preceded by a 10-part micro-series beginning in fall 2011 on Disney XD.
