Cartoon Network and United Arab Emirates-based company twofour54 have teamed up to create Arabic animation projects.
The deal will see Cartoon Network open development and production offices at the Abu Dhabi location of twofour54, as well as a training academy.
The first phase of the partnership, which includes the academy and development studios, will launch in September. Production studios will open early next year.
“Cartoon Network is planning to revolutionize the creation of Arab animation,” said Tony Orsten, chief executive of twofour54, in a statement. “This partnership … supports our aim to develop a sustainable media and entertainment content industry here in Abu Dhabi.”
