Oscar-winning actor and musician Jamie Foxx is getting into the animation game and is set to star in an original animated feature called Welcome to the Jungle for Fox Animation, reports Variety.
The film was set up based on an original pitch from Foxx and writer Malcolm Spellman, according to the trade. Foxx will provide a voice and will produce the movie with manager and partner Jamie Rucker King through their FoxxKing Entertainment shingle. Foxx also will create new music for the movie.
Fox Animation is best known for its successful Ice Age films. Its next project is the 3D film Rio, due next April from Blue Sky Studios and directed by Carlos Saldanha.
