Paprikaas, the India-based animation studio owned by Technicolor, has been awarded the production duties on Nickelodeon’s upcoming animated series based on the DreamWorks feature film Kung Fu Panda.
The studio had built a relationship with the network with its work on another series spun off from a DreamWorks feature, The Penguins of Madagascar.
Nick has ordered 26 half-hour episodes, with production already under way.
‘We have built an excellent relationship with the team at Technicolor during our collaboration on Penguins of Madagascar,’ stated Mark Taylor, senior VP and general manager of Nickelodeon Animation Studios. ‘They have developed a world-class CGI production studio and animation team with an established competence that dovetails nicely and efficiently into our production pipeline.’
The series is set to begin airing in the fall of 2010.
