Canada’s NFB Signs Co-Production Deals at Annecy

The National Film Board of Canada has signed at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival a co-production agreement for an animated short film with the CT Productions/Caloi en su Tinta of Argentina.

The deal gives the company access to NFB’s technical services and financial support for a short film project that will be chosen by Dec. 15. Argentina is the nation being honored this year by the Annecy festival.

‘Argentina’s animated film production, which is marked by its inventiveness, is in full swing. We are pleased to support its development with the unique expertise developed by the NFB in this area,’ said Monique Simard, NFB’s French program director general.

The NFB also signed a co-production deal for two new short films with its French partner, Folimage. The films ‘ Le banquet de la concubine, by Hefang Wei; and Merci mon chien, by Julie Rembauville and Nicolas Bianco-Levrin ‘ will be produced under Folimage’s artist-in-residence program.
