BBC children’s channel CBeebies has promoted Alison Stewart to head of production, animation and acquisitions.
Stewart takes over for Kay Benbow, who was recently named controller of CBeebies. Stewart previously was executive editor for CBeebies, and was responsible for in-house development and production.
She began her career with BBC in the costume department and worked her way up through the production ranks. She left the company in 1996 and spent nine years as an independent writer, director and producer before returning to the BBC as an executive producer for CBeebies.
