The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is joining the party honoring Ray Harryhausen’s 90th birthday.
The organization has set a double feature of two of the visual effects pioneer’s most popular films, 20 Million Miles to Earth and The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, for July 16 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.
The screening is being held in conjunction with the academy’s current exhibit, The Fantastical Worlds of Ray Harryhausen, which wil l be on display with special hours before and after the screening.
Tickets cost $5 for the general public and $3 for academy members and students with a valid ID, and may be purchased online at www.oscars.org, in person at the Academy box office or by mail. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
