Former Disney animator Chuck Williams has joined Digital Domain Holdings’ new studio in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where he will produce and direct upcoming animated feature films with his longtime collaborator and friend Aaron Blaise.
‘Aaron and I started at Disney 21 years ago on the same day, and we are thrilled to be directing and producing original films together at Digital Domain Holdings,’ Williams said.
Williams’ animation career began in 1989, when he began working at Walt Disney Feature Animation and worked on such films as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. He was executive producer of the 2003 animated feature Brother Bear, which Blaise directed.
Before joining Digital Domain Holdings, Williams worked as a creative consultant to Warner Bros. Pictures on the upcoming animated film, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.
