Constantin Plans new 3D Tarzan Toon

Constantin Films has acquired the rights to develop a 3D animated feature based on Edgar Rice Burroughs’ classic Tarzan novels, Variety reports.

The Germany company will produce the English-language film in-house with Robert Kulzer and Reinhard Klooss at the helm. Kulzer is producing upcoming 3D projects Resident Evil: Afterlife, opening this fall, and The Three Musketeers. Klooss is the writer, director and producer of Animals United, an animated CGI 3D film releasing this fall, Variety reports

Martin Moszkowicz, Constantin Film’s head of film and TV, will serve as executive producer and Ambient Entertainment will be doing the animation, Variety says.

Tarzan last came to animation in a 1999 Disney feature.
