DC Comics Documentary Due on DVD Nov. 9

It’s been 75 years since the first comic book published by the company now known as DC Comics hit the stands, and Warner Home Video is celebrating with a new documentary DVD titled Secret Origin: The Story of DC Comics.

Actor Ryan Reynolds, who plays Hal Jordan in the upcoming live-action movie version of DC’s Green Lantern, narrates the documentary, which will be released Nov. 9 with a suggested retail price of $24.98.

Mac Carter is directing the film, which will examine the history of the publisher and feature interviews with many of comics’ top writers, artists and editors, including Neal Adams, Karen Berger, Mike Carlin, Dan DiDio, Neil Gaiman, Geoff Johns, Jim Lee, Paul Levitz, Dwayne McDuffie, Grant Morrison, Denny O’Neil, Paul Pope, Louise Simonson, Mark Waid, Len Wein and Marv Wolfman.

Jeffrey Blitz, whose credits include the Oscar-nominated documentary Spellbound and The Office, is executive producer on the film. Producing are Gregory Noveck, Sean Welch and Janet Eckholm, with Ivan Cohen serving as co-producer.
