Another veteran of both comic books and animation is joining the crew of Marvel’s new Ultimate Spider-Man series.
Paul Dini, a writer whose credits include Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, Lost and comics including Batman: Streets of Gotham, has joined the show’s creative team. He joins Brian Michael Bendis, longtime writer of the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series, and the Man of Action studio in working on the series.
Speaking to MTV’s Splash Page, Dini says he’s looking forward to tackling the character and that the series will take the same slant of the original comic book series and find ways to update the Spider-Man mythology to be relevant for a modern audience.
‘We’re also taking a much different approach visually with the way we show how Spider-Man moves and works and acts within this new world. It’s going to be a complete change as far as the visualization of what it’s like to be Spider-Man,’ he told the site.
Ultimate Spider-Man is slated to begin airing on Disney XD in fall of 2011.
