Today, Canadian consumer products and media company Statement Worldwide announced the launch of its latest venture, Statement Animation, a dedicated imprint for animation content distribution. Following the company’s recent rebranding to Statement Worldwide, this strategic move represents its evolution and commitment to expanding its reach in the global animation industry.
Statement Animation will focus on the strategic distribution and impactful marketing of animated film and television content. With a history of animation publicity and marketing, this new imprint marks the company’s move into international sales and North American distribution, with a special emphasis on the Canadian market. While continuing to represent and oversee publicity campaigns for animation film and television clients, Statement Animation provides its clients and partners with an expanded reach and innovative approach to amplifying the global presence of animated content.
“Launching this imprint has been one of my biggest dreams and goals, to date,” said Matthew Celestial, President & CEO. “I want to continue celebrating independent animation as both an art form and a medium of collective entertainment for people worldwide. I look forward to Statement Animation serving as a partner to independent producers, filmmakers and production companies looking to reach a wider audience to celebrate their content.”
Celestial, known for his extensive work with animation studios globally, most recently handled public relations for Nelvana and Kids Can Press for their respective 50th anniversaries. He also oversaw publicity campaigns for the international production house Ado Ato Pictures, PBS Frontline and the Oscar-qualifying film festival, Spark Animation. He sits on the board of directors of the Toronto Animation Arts Festival International (TAAFI) and BRIC Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities for marginalized communities in the animation, gaming and tech industries.
Statement Animation will introduce its new venture at the European Film Market this month.
