Trailer: World Domination Is Back on the Menu in ‘Plankton: The Movie’!

From an unassuming corner of the ocean’s depths, a global threat rises — and it’s up to Bikini Bottom’s own master of chaos to … save the day?!

Netflix and Nickelodeon today debuted the trailer and new first-look stills for Plankton: The Movie, which will officially premiere exclusively on the global streamer on March 7. The spot reveals how Plankton’s lifelong dreams of world domination are scuttled when his long-suffering AI assistant, Karen, decides to take charge.

The new SpongeBob spinoff is directed by Dave Needham (The Loud House Movie) from a story by Plankton voice actor Mr. Lawrence, screenplay by Mr. Lawrence & Kaz and Mr. Lawrence & Chris Viscardi, based on the characters created by Stephen Hillenburg.

SpongeBob SquarePants voice stars reprise their iconic roles from the 25-years-running show: Mr. Lawrence as Plankton, Jill Talley as Karen, Tom Kenny as SpongeBob, Bill Fagerbakke as Patrick, Carolyn Lawrence as Sandy, Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs and Rodger Bumpass as Squidward.

Plankton: The Movie also features original songs by Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords), Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Linda Perry, Mark Mothersbaugh & Bob Mothersbaugh.

Executive producers on the project are SpongeBob franchise veterans Marc Ceccarelli and Vincent Waller.
