Clip: ‘Not a Box’ Puts an Imaginative Spin on Spelunking! (Exclusive)

A whimsical new preschool series is about to hop onto Apple TV in Not a Box, a 2D-animated show adapted from the books by The New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Antoniette Portis. The series centers on an inventive young bunny named Riley (voiced by Isabel Birch) who uses the power of her imagination to transform a simple cardboard box into a fantastical adventure in every episode.

The show launches Friday, June 13 with the episode “It’s a Boat / It’s a Mountain,” in which Riley sails away in her box-turned-boat to help a pizza-loving sea creature make friends. Then, the creative tyke invents a mountain in the hopes of kissing a cloud.

Ahead of the premiere, Animation Magazine is sharing an exclusive clip which sees Riley and a newly hatched dinosaur pal explore a cave full of surprises!

The eight-episode series is produced by Dete Meserve’s Silver Creek Falls Entertainment with Meserve serving as executive producer. The series is written and co-executive produced by Emmy Award winner Michael Rabb. Animation is produced by Passion Pictures with executive producers Debbie Crosscup and Andrew Ruhemann, and directed by Siri Melchior. Additional executive producers include Harry Lowell for Nitelite Pictures, and Angus Wall and Linda Carlson for Rock Paper Scissors.

Kate Robinson, director of the Sir Ken Robinson Foundation and daughter of Sir Ken Robinson, serves as the imagination and creativity expert on the series through Apple TV+’s changemakers initiative.
