‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Gives Stellar Performance on Netflix & Billboard Charts

Netflix’s latest animated feature, the energetic, music-powered supernatural adventure KPop Demon Hunters continues to gather viewers to the “Couch! Couch! Couch!” The film, produced by Sony Pictures Animation and directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Applehans, has entered its third week of release on a wave of enduring popularity with streaming subscribers.

Per the platform’s June 30-July 6 numbers, KPop Demon Hunters has attained spots in the Top 10 lists in all countries ranked, including No. 2 on the English Film list with an additional 22.7 million views.

Additionally, the movie’s fictional rival bands, Saja Boys and HUNTR/X, also joined forces to surpass BTS and BLACKPINK, respectively, as the highest-charting K-pop groups in U.S. Spotify history. They took over the Billboard Global 200, too — HUNTR/X’s “Golden” rose to No. 2 on the chart, while Saja Boys’ banger “Your Idol” ranked at No. 10. The film’s companion album achieved the biggest streaming week for a soundtrack since Barbie in 2023, climbing up five spots from last week to land at No. 3 on the Billboard 200.

An LP of the soundtrack is available to purchase from Republic Records.
