‘Sakamoto Days’ Pt. 2 Trailer Spotlights Jacob Bertrand as Gaku

Cobra Kai star Jacob Bertrand joins the assassin’s guild of Sakamoto Days as the English-language voice of Gaku, a member of Slur’s gang. The new character appears in the global trailer for Part 2 of the anime series, which will roll out 11 episodes, weekly on Mondays, starting July 14 on Netflix.

Returning English voice cast members include Matthew Mercer (Blood of Zeus) as Taro Sakamoto, Dallas Liu (Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender) as Shin Asakura, Rosalie Chiang (Turning Red) as Lu Shaotang, Rosie Okumura as Aoi Sakamoto, Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) as Heisuke Mashimo, Aleks Le (Solo Leveling) as Nagumo and Vinnie Hacker as X/Slur.

Based on the original manga by Yuto Suzuki (published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump), Season 1 Part 1 of Sakamoto Days spent 10 consecutive weeks on the Netflix Global Top 10 TV (non-English) list.

Logline: Once the greatest hitman of all, Taro Sakamoto retired in the name of love. But when his past catches up, he must fight to protect his beloved family.

The anime series is directed by Masaki Watanabe (Battle Spirits, Code Geass) with series composition by Taku Kishimoto, character design by Yo Moriyama, background design by Yukiko Maruyama, color design by Manami Sasa and music by Yuki Hayashi. The opening theme is “Method” by Kroi; the ending theme is “Dandelion” by golgolvanillas. TMS Entertainment (Lupin the 3rd, Dr. Stone, Baki) is the animation producer.
