Disney-Pixar’s ‘Elio’ Beams to Home Entertainment Platforms in Aug. & Sept.

Families can embark on an interstellar adventure from anywhere when Disney and Pixar’s Elio arrives on Digital platforms August 19 (including Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango at Home) and on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD September 9.

Presented with 4K Ultra HD with Dolby Digital visuals and Atmos audio. The digital and Blu-ray offer hours of exclusive bonus content including astronautic and artistic featurettes plus a gag reel, deleted scenes and a peek at Pixar’s Easter egg inclusions. The 4K UHD will be available in a collectible limited edition SteelBook with special artwork and packaging depicting Elio’s astronomical adventure, along with a couple of his new extraterrestrial friends.

Synopsis: Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination, finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.

Released on June 20th, Elio opened to mixed reviews (83% score on Rottentomatoes.com)  and had a $21 million opening weekend — the lowest opening for a Pixar movie, lower than the first Pixar feature1995’s Toy Story at $29.1 million, and also lower than 2023’s Elemental ($29.6 million). Made for a reported budget of $150 million, the movie has now made around $147.8 million worldwide ($72.8 million in the U.S.)  after seven weeks at the box office.
