‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Sing-Along Screenings Coming to Theaters (UPDATE)

The unstoppable hitmakers of HUNTR/X are bringing their Billboard chart-topping tunes to the big screen for a special theatrical engagement of KPop Demon HuntersNetflix’s most popular animated feature will be hitting the big screen in a new sing-along screening series on Saturday and Sunday, August 23 & 24.

Following Fandango’s quiet launch of a ticketing page for KPop Demon Hunters: A Sing-Along Event, the official Netflix announcement revealed that tickets will go on sale Wednesday, August 13 at 6 a.m. PT. Fans can find their local venues and showtimes at SingKPopDemonHunters.com.

The movie previously had a limited theatrical run in Los Angeles, New York City and San Francisco timed to its Netflix debut on June 20. Since its launch, KPop Demon Hunters has rocked the Netflix Top 10 lists and managed to belt its way to a rare viewership high note in its fifth week. The music-fueled adventures is both the most popular animated film of all time and the first animated film to rank on the Most Popular Movies List (English). The official soundtrack has dominated charts this summer with more than 3 billion global streams to date, and HUNTR/X’s “Golden” hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Synopsis: When they aren’t selling out stadiums, Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira and Zoey use their secret identities as badass demon hunters to protect their fans from an ever-present supernatural threat. Together, they must face their biggest enemy yet — an irresistible rival boy band of demons in disguise.

The voice cast is led by Arden Cho (Rumi), May Hong (Mira) and Ji-young Yoo (Zoey) voicing heroic trio HUNTR/X, and Ahn Hyo-seop as Jinu, the leader of the demonic boy band Saja Boys. The film also features the voices of Yunjin Kim, Joel Kim Booster, Liza Koshy, with Daniel Dae Kim, Ken Jeong and Byung Hun Lee.

Produced by Sony Pictures Animation, KPop Demon Hunters is directed by Maggie Kang (head of story, The LEGO Ninjago Movie) and Chris Appelhans (Wish Dragon). Michelle L.M. Wong is producer, with Scott Berri and Jacky Priddle as co-producers and Ian Eisendrath as executive music producer.

The film’s score is by Marcelo Zarvos, punctuated by original songs written by Danny Chung, IDO, Vince, KUSH, EJAE, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren, Mark Sonnenblick and Daniel Rojas; produced by Teddy Park, 24, IDO, DOMINSUK, Jenna Andrews, Stephen Kirk, Lindgren and Ian Eisendrath; and performed by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, REI AMI, Andrew Choi, Danny Chung, Kevin Woo, samUIL Lee, Neckwav, Lea Salonga; plus an original feature song performed by Jeongyeon, Jihyo and Chaeyoung of TWICE.
