Netflix Animated Fantasy-Drama ‘Wolf King’ Wraps with Season 2 in September

Following its March debut, Netflix’s animated fantasy series Wolf King has launched a Season 2 trailer and set its return date for September 11. The story will be concluding with this second installment, according to plan: Netflix picked up the project with two seasons commissioned from British prodcos Lime Pictures and Jellyfish Pictures — which shut down shortly after delivering Wolf King and Netflix’s Roald Dahl project The Twits earlier this year, and has been reinvented as JFX.

With the order announcement, author Curtis Jobling, whose Wereworld book series inspired the show and who served as lead writer and producer on the animated adaptation, confirmed on his website that all six novels will be covered by the double-order, spanning 16 episodes. Additional production partners on Wolf King are animation/VFX studio Assemblage Entertainment (India) and U.K. post-production houses Dock10 and Brain Audio.

Season 1 spent two weeks in the Netflix global Top 10 lists with 5.5 million views, and is estimated to have wracked up 33.7 million hours watched through June 2025.

Based on the popular book series by Curtis Jobling, ‘Wolf King’ will return for its second, final series on September 11.
Wolf King is an epic fantasy adventure series that follows Drew Ferran as he comes of age and discovers he is the last of a long line of Werewolves, and rightful (yet reluctant) ruler of a land governed by Werelords. Drew must fight to abolish the tyranny of the Lion lords and reclaim the throne.

Season 2 picks back up with this quest, with a logline that reads: “As he fights for his throne and faces enemies from all sides, Drew learns the heavy burden of being king — and the daunting task of choosing a queen.”

The voice cast features Ceallach Spellman as Drew Ferran, Nina Barker-Francis as Whitley, Georgia Lock as Lady Gretchen, Chris Lew Kum Hoi as Hector, Tom Rhys Harries as Lucas, Colin Ryan as Vincent/Conrad, Louis Landau as Trent, Peter Serafinowicz as Kesslar/Mack/Manfred, Paterson Joseph as Bergan, David Dawson as Vega, David Yip as Huth/Hamwell, Kate Fleetwood as Queen Amelie/Tilly, Kim Adis as Erin, Kobna Holdbrook Smith as Hogan, Ralph Ineson as King Leopold, Rasmus Hardiker as Mikkel, Rob Rackstraw as Vankaskan/Vanmorten, Samuel Anderson as Broghan, Paul Antony-Barber as Ewan and Anna Savva as Baba Korga.

The series is directed by Tom Brass for Jellyfish Pictures and produced by Angelo Abela, Tim Compton, Kate Little, Claire Poyser and Curtis Jobling.
