New ‘Kimikoe’ Anime Trailer Debuts Ending Theme by Yoh Kamiyama

REMOW Co. Ltd. has revealed a new character-focused trailer for With You, Our Love Will Make It Through.(a.k.a. Kimikoe), the new anime series adaptation of the popular shojo manga by Chihiro Yuzuki (serialized on Manga Mee, published by Shueisha). The studio also confirmed that the ending theme song will be “Kimi ni Naretara,” written and performed by Yoh Kamiyama. The series is set to make its Japan broadcast premiere on Tuesday, October 14.

The new character trailer, released alongside a new key visual, focuses on the four central characters — Mari Asaka, Tsunagu Hidaka, Yukihiro Aida and Kisara — depicting the intertwining emotions of their youthful relationships. The opening theme is “Kusuguttai.,” by CHiCO with HoneyWorks. Set to this track, the trailer highlights the fateful encounter between human highschooler Mari and the beastfolk boy Tsunagu, and the sincere feelings they begin to share. In the second half of the spot, the ending theme “Kimi ni Naretara” is  revealed for the first time; a melodic tune that chimes with Yukihiro’s hidden feelings and Kisara’s inner conflict.

“’Kimi ni Naretar’ centers on the theme of expressing honest feelings while overcoming various emotional barriers,” explained Kamiyama, who found viral popularity with his song “Yellow” and has also contributed music to anime series Drifting Dragons and Horimiya. “I aimed to create a sound that draws listeners in, and I hope you’ll enjoy it along with the lyrics. I’d be truly happy if the music helps deepen the emotional resonance of the anime’s world.”

Synopsis: In the year 20XX, beastfolk are a small part of human society. An exceptional student, Tsunagu, a beastfolk, joins the class of Mari, a high school student who lives in a town where beastfolk and humans coexist. Although she is confused by her first contact with a beastfolk, as they spend time together as classmates, she finds herself drawn to the kind and pure Tsunagu. Tsunagu is also captivated by the “sweet smell” that Mari exudes, and is fascinated by her beauty and strength. But in this world, where the Beastfolk are separated behind a wall, the mere act of being close to a human and a Beastfolk is met with curiosity … Not to mention falling in love.

A human and a beastfolk. What will happen to their love that transcends their races?

Shin Itagaki (Berserk, Teekyu, Black Cat) and Hiromi Kimura (So I’m a Spider, So What?; Magia Record) team up to direct the anime, with Millepensee as the production studio. Itagaki also serves as the series’ script and series composition writer, with Kimura as character designer. The creative team also includes art director Masakazu Miyake, color designer Miyuki Kibata and composer Akiyoshi Yasuda.

The voice cast is led by Manaka Iwami as Mari Asaka, Takiya Eguchi as Tsunagu Hidaka, Kotaro Nishiyama as Yukihiro Aida and Ai Kakuma as Kisara.
