The “Verandah Santa” track drops today across all DSPs including music streaming services.
The four tracks included on the single are:
“Let’s Play Verandah Santa,” recorded directly from the Bluey episode “Verandah Santa.” “This is a truly great representation of an Australian Christmas!,” Bush remarked. “It was created using score from the original episode to make sure when you listen to this track you can feel like you’re back in the episode and playing along with Bluey and her family!”
Offering a take on the episode theme, the tune “Verandah Santa” was crafted in collaboration with Australian singer-songwriter & multi-instrumentalist Emma Dean and composer Joe Twist, incorporating elements played by Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra. “We wanted to have a fun take on Tchaikovsky’s Christmas classic, ’The Nutcracker’ (one of our favorite pieces) because a fun Christmas needs fun music!,” the Bluey Music team explained. “We also wanted a ’50s Disney-esque sound like some of our favorite Christmas records.”
“I Don’t Have a Chimney (feat. Emma Dean),” as well as the title track, is a brand-new song on the EP. Bush said, “We found ourselves writing the lyrics in the style of Emma’s young Santa-obsessed kids — resulting in many guffaws and grins! We had so much fun writing and recording this EP together.”
Last but not least, “Bluey Theme Tune (Christmas Version” is a brand-new, festive take on the show’s signature song. “We had heaps of fun adding to the original extended theme from the first album with snippets from other tracks,” Bush added, “like ‘Instrument Parade’ and some references to ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘Joy to the World’ — and of course adding some fun percussion and other Christmassy flair!”
In July 2025, Bluey officially surpassed 1 billion lifetime audio streams across all platforms. The same year, the AACTA Award for Best Original Score in Television was awarded to Bluey – Episode 2. In 2024, Bluey: Rug Island (Demon Music Group) debuted #1 on Billboard’s Kid Albums Chart and the Soundtracks Chart in the U.S. The Bluey music team also won the 2024 Screen Music Award for Best Music for Children’s Programming for the special episode ‘The Sign’.
