Comedy Central Pulls ‘South Park’ Episode Spoofing Charlie Kirk from Re-Run Schedule

In the wake of the shooting death of MAGA advocate and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, Comedy Central has reportedly removed the recent South Park Season 27 episode “Got a Nut” from its re-run rotation. In the episode, Eric Cartman takes on the persona (and hairstyle) of a podcast/YouTube debate bro, lampooning Kirk’s “Prove Me Wrong” format.

The episode is still available to stream on Paramount+.

While most of the episode revolves around Mr. Mackey joining ICE to pay his bills and notably rips VP JD Vance and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the side story follows Cartman’s evolution as a conservative talking head in a podcast personality showdown with schoolmate Clyde Donovan. The episode culminates with the bestowal of the “Charlie Kirk Award for Young Master Debaters.”

Kirk publicly took the name check in stride, calling his pseudo appearance on South Park a “badge of honor” in a FOX News interview, adding, “We as conservatives should be able to take a joke.” He also shared a clip from the episode to his X feed, writing, “Not bad, Cartman.”

Kirk was shot by an unknown suspect while speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University organized by Turning Point USA, and died from his injuries. A student petition to bar Kirk from the campus had received more than 1,000 signatures ahead of the Wednesday appearance.

Utah law permits the open carry of registered firearms on college campuses.

Season 27 of South Park will continue with a new episode on Wednesday,  September 23 on Comedy Central, streaming on Paramount+ the day after.
