Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced new cast additions to Zootopia 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the studio’s Oscar-winning 2016 original. Disney’s 64th feature film is helmed by returning directors Jared Bush and Byron Howard, reuniting with producer Yvett Merino, and will open in theaters on November 26.
The new cast and characters announced are an influential family of Canadian lynxes:
- Andy Samberg voices Pawbert Lynxley, the easy-going runt of the powerful Lynxley family.
- David Strathairn is Milton Lynxley, a distinguished business-mammal and the patriarch of one of Zootopia’s oldest and most prestigious families.
- Macauley Culkin voices Cattrick Lynxley, the ambitious oldest son of the Lynxley family.
- Brenda Song plays Kitty Lynxley, the sharp-tongued daughter of the Lynxley family.
These latest additions will join returning stars Ginnifer Goodwin (Judy Hopps), Jason Bateman (Nick Wilde) and Idris Elba (Chief Bogo) — as well as many, many more familiar fauna as previously announced — and other new characters voice by Ke Huy Quan (Gary De’Snake), Fortune Feimster (Nibbles) and Quinta Brunson (Dr. Fuzzby).
Synopsis: After cracking the biggest case in Zootopia’s history, rookie cops Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman) find their partnership isn’t as solid as they thought when Chief Bogo (Idris Elba) orders them to join the Partners in Crisis counseling program. But it doesn’t take long for their partnership to be put to the ultimate test when they find themselves on the twisting trail of a mystery tied to the arrival of a venomous snake in the animal metropolis.
