Longtime kids’ and animation executive Olivier Dumont has announced he is stepping down as President of Hasbro Entertainment, a role he has held since the company sold its Entertainment One (eOne) division, of which he was President of Family Brands for 13 years, in 2023. In a post to LinkedIn, Dumont shared he is exploring “new opportunities to build, lead and create.”
Hasbro Entertainment is the content division of toy giant Hasbro, the rights holder for global hits and enduring brands including Peppa Pig, Transformers, My Little Pony and PJ Masks. Dumont’s CV also includes his longtime role as CEO of Frog Box, the Paris-based animation studio behind PJ Masks.
The industry veteran’s 30-plus years of experience also covers time with European players including TV Loonland (Managing Director), SIP Animation (Managing Director), Canal J (Head of Acquisitions & Co-Productions) and Europe Images International/Lagardère (Head of Business Affairs & Co-Productions).
Hasbro sold eOne to Lionsgate in 2023 for $500 million. The company had purchased the studio four years earlier for $4 billion, bringing the hit Peppa Pig and PJ Masks properties into its portfolio.
Dumont’s post reads in full:
“After an incredible journey that began at Entertainment One and continued through at Hasbro after the acquisition, the time has come for me to hand over my dice, cards, and action figures 🎲🃏🤖 and pass the torch.
What makes me proudest isn’t just the shows or films we delivered, but the everlasting memories we created for children and families all over the world. From Peppa Pig to PJ Masks, Transformers to My Little Pony, I had the joy of working with visionary creators, partners, and colleagues to bring these beloved brands to life in new and meaningful ways.
At eOne, we grew from a passionate team of 20 to more than 200, building something truly special together. Over the past 15 years, I’ve seen and been inspired by an unparalleled level of collaboration, integrity, and creativity. We built high-functioning teams not through hierarchy, but through empowerment: trusting people to do their best work, take bold risks, and bring their imagination to families everywhere. And the results just followed as we collectively built two $1B+ brands.
I’m deeply grateful to the many colleagues, creators, partners and friends who shared this adventure with me. And I’ll always treasure being part of an industry where ‘play’ wasn’t just what we made, it was our purpose.
As for what’s next, I’m excited to explore new opportunities to build, lead, and create. For now, I’m celebrating the ride, the people, and the memories we built together. Thank you, Entertainment One and Hasbro, for the adventure of a lifetime.”
