After almost five years, a fresh season of the friendly-frights animated series Spookiz is ready to launch a new season of adorable monster adventures. Fans can catch this latest batch on Friday, October 17, in time for spooky season.
Spookiz is a globally popular kids’ 3D-CG series with close to 6.2 million YouTube subscribers and over 3.1 billion total views, as of September 11. The series primarily features short, non-verbal animations ranging from one to three minutes, screening for fans not only in the United States but also across Asia, Central and South America, and Europe.
Produced by Keyring Studio in South Korea, Spookiz launched in 2014 and follows a pack of lovable, silly school-age monsters who come alive in the middle of the night: Cula, a boastful and mischievous, yet lovable, Dracula-styled vampire; Frankie, a kindhearted Frankenstein creation obsessed with food; Kebi, an energetic, carefree and unpredictable goblin; Kongkong, a slightly devious but cute Chinese ghost; and Zizi, a charming and bright zombie … with a distinctive smell.
The show has also spawned a feature-length movie adventure, released in 2020 to YouTube.
The new season of Spookiz will shift the setting from the familiar school environment, where the monsters have spent their daily lives, to Japan, introducing new characters inspired by Japanese monster lore.
