Tickets Now on Sale for ‘Toy Story’ 30th Anniversary Theatrical Event, in 4DX for the First Time

Revisit the film that began Pixar’s pioneering CG animation legacy this month! Tickets to see Disney and Pixar’s original animated feature Toy Story in-theaters go on sale today as the 30th Anniversary celebration of animated classic continues. Fans across the country have the unique chance to experience Buzz and Woody’s adventure on the big screen in its original format — and in 4DX for the first time ever — beginning September 12.

The special theatrical re-release gives fans the chance to celebrate the milestone anniversary of Toy Story, the world’s first-ever feature length 3D CG animation that changed the course animation history.  Initially released in theaters on November 22, 1995, audiences can reopen the toy box and rediscover the adventure, friendship and fun that Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, Bullseye and the rest of the gang have brought to generations of audiences.

Directed by John Lasseter, Toy Story voice stars Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Annie Potts as Bo Peep, John Ratzenberger as Hamm, Don Rickles as Mr. Potato Head, Wallace Shawn as Rex and Jim Varney as Slinky Dog, with music by Disney Legend Randy Newman.

Release prior to the inception of the Best Animated Feature Oscar, Toy Story was nominated by the Academy for Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Musical or Comedy Score and Best Original Song, and won a Special Achievement award. The film won eight Annie Awards out of nine nominations, including Best Animated Feature, and Individual Achievement honors for animation, directing, writing, producing, production design, technical achievement and music. The film boast a rare 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Produced for a total budget of $720 million, the franchise (which includes five Toy Story films as well as the TV spin-off Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and theatrical spin-off Lightyear) has grossed more than $3.3 billion worldwide. Toy Story remains the fourth highest-grossing animated film franchise of all time, following Despicable Me, Shrek and The Lion King.
