Toronto-based film and television production company Wildling Pictures today unveils the first look at the upcoming animated preschool series Professor Goose, with a new teaser available to watch now.
The series, which is based on the book series from Paulette Bourgeois (author of the Franklin the Turtle books) and illustrator Alex G. Griffiths (The Bug Collector), follows a goofy and adventurous scientist and her curious niece as they dive into classic fairy tales to playfully debunk their wobbly science. In each episode, Professor Goose and Feathers explore a different story, such as Jack and the Beanstalk and The Three Little Pigs, asking big questions and uncovering real-world science in the process.
Wildling Pictures has partnered with digital distribution specialist and CEO of VIEWED, Terence Mbulaheni, to lead the digital strategy. Mbulaheni has over a decade of experience in digital strategy and YouTube monetization and has worked with brands such as PAW Patrol, Barney, Batman and Monster Jam. Prior to founding the content monetization and digital marketing agency VIEWED, Mbulaheni served as Director of Spin Channel Network at Spin Master, where he oversaw the growth of their YouTube business. Wildling Pictures will collaborate with Mbulaheni to distribute Professor Goose to a broad network of digital channels.
As the series is designed with seven-minute and self-contained episodes, Wildling is looking for traditional broadcast and distribution partners while also exploring digital-first distribution on platforms like YouTube. Partnering with Mbulaheni will further amplify this reach, opening doors to collaborations with a wide network of global channels and platforms. More news on the show’s rollout will be shared in the coming year.
Professor Goose is written and created by Jocelyn Geddie (Mermicorno: Starfall, Pinecone & Pony, Snoopy in Space) and executive produced by Natalie Urquhart and Matt Code, founder of Wildling Pictures. Kait Boss, former director of Children’s Television for The Jim Henson Company, is consulting on the series, as well as distribution and sales strategy.
