The Pinkfong Company (Baby Shark) today announced that its hit family series Bebefinn has expanded its universe with the addition of Minjee, a new character that has garnered strong global viewership and audience engagement. Episodes featuring Minjee have collectively surpassed 30 million views on YouTube within just three weeks.
Minjee, a lively and confident Korean character, made her first appearance as Bebefinn’s new next-door neighbor. With her love for K-pop, spicy food and her warm family — a baseball player dad, a puppeteer mom, big sister Mina and their golden retriever Mandoo (“dumpling”) — Minjee’s arrival broadens the show’s focus from everyday family moments to stories about friendship, community and social development, offering children meaningful lessons that transcend cultures and borders, The Pinkfong Company asserts.
“Minjee’s arrival marks an exciting new chapter in Bebefinn’s journey as a global family series,” said Bitna Kwon, Chief Strategy Officer at The Pinkfong Company. “We want every child, wherever they are, to see a bit of themselves in our stories and find joy in discovering the world together.”
Bebefinn has become one of the most popular family entertainment series worldwide, topping Netflix Kids charts in 11 countries including the U.S., and ranking in the Top 10 across 25 markets. The franchise continues to grow across platforms, surpassing 16 billion views and 30 million subscribers on YouTube to date, and achieving the YouTube Diamond Creator Award in just 14 months — the fastest among The Pinkfong Company’s channels.
The Pinkfong Company says it will continue expanding Bebefinn’s global footprint through new stories, music and experiences that connect families both online and offline, continuing to spotlight the joys of learning and togetherness across generations and cultures.
