Mediawan Kids & Family Teams Up with El Reino Infantil for Digital Animated Series ‘Wadoo’

Wadoo [Mediawan Kids & Family, El Reino Infantil]

European production and distribution studio Mediawan Kids & Family and El Reino Infantil, the #1 YouTube Kids network in the Hispanic world, announce the co-production of Wadoo, a brand new digital-first animated series targeting preschool audiences.

Wadoo is a comedy adventure preschool series of (39 x 7′) that takes children on musical journeys through a magical world. Guided by the curious young dragoness Wadoo and her friends, each adventure blends discovery, friendship and respect for nature, culminating in an original song that celebrates the day’s lesson.

This partnership represents a significant step in Mediawan Kids & Family’s strategic expansion into the development of animated series based on digital-first hits, the company notes. By joining forces with El Reino Infantil the studio continues to fine tune a blend of traditional animation production and digital deployment, positioning itself in line with shifts in viewing habits.

”We are thrilled to join forces with El Reino Infantil, a leading digital player, to launch Wadoo, a truly innovative preschool IP designed with the new generation of audiences in mind,” said Julien Borde, President of Mediawan Kids & Family. ”This collaboration marks a major strategic step in our ambition to combine the best of digital creativity with the excellence of traditional production. Wadoo perfectly embodies Mediawan Kids & Family’s approach: delivering original, high-quality content tailored to today’s viewing habits, and supporting our partners in the evolving international animation landscape.”

Roberto “Kuky” Pumar, CEO of El Reino Infantil, added, “At a time when children’s entertainment is undergoing major transformation, this alliance with Mediawan Kids & Family has the potential to redefine how brands that resonate with new generations are built. Both companies have proven they understand today’s audiences and know how to create the content they seek. Mediawan brings international prestige and creative excellence; El Reino Infantil contributes a digital-first DNA and a global community that engages with our content every day. From this convergence comes Wadoo: a project designed for a present where digital and physical coexist in a ‘phygital’ universe. Today, success is collaborative.”

The project will implement a comprehensive soft-launch strategy, beginning with shorts created for social media and released on El Reino Infantil’s channel to test and refine characters, tone and concept development. These shorts will be produced using AI tools that enhance the artists’ creative capabilities while maintaining full creative control by the talented teams behind the project.

Utilizing audience analytics and community engagement insights, the partnership will develop a full 39 x 7’ preschool comedy-adventure animated series scheduled for release in 2026, combining YouTube’s digital reach with international broadcast distribution through Mediawan Kids & Family Distribution. The series will build toward a comprehensive transmedia franchise strategy, following global hits like Miraculous and La Granja de Zenon.

Nicolas Fisch (Mediawan Kids & Family) and Ylka Tapia (El Reino Infantil) will be executive producers of the full-length series.
