Somewhere in Wiscansin’— T-Pain, “Can’t Believe It,” 2008
Grammy-winning rap artist-producer T-Pain is teaming up with social media talent agency Viral Nation and multimedia animation & kids’ studio Wind Sun Sky Entertainment (Invincible, Psi Cops, Future Chicken) to develop the animated series Wiscansin, inspired by the sensation-stirring rhyme of “mansion” and “Wisconsin” in his 2008 single “Can’t Believe It.”
The slant-rhyme sparked a viral moment across social media and led T-Pain to create a whole “Wiscansin” brand.
“I’ve never been more excited to enter the animation arena with my new original series featuring all there is to love about Wiscansin,” T-Pain told Deadline. “Collaborating with Viral Nation and Wind Sun Sky for the project was an easy decision as they are truly at the forefront of creators, digital entertainment, animation and interactive IP development.”
Details of the story, setting or stars of Wiscansin are yet to be revealed, but Wind Sun Sky head Catherine Winder (formerly of Lucasfilm Animation) shared that, building on the short lyric, “T-Pain has started to create this universe, with hilarious, relatable characters that are ripe for storytelling.He’s got this tongue-in-cheek, irreverent take on university life, which is exaggerated and self-aware at the same time. We’ve got all these fun characters in this universe, and we’re going to build from there.”
