NYCC: ‘The Mighty Nein’ Official Trailer Calls Up Exandria’s Least Likely Heroes

“What do we do?”

“What we do best … make terrible choices.”

Today, Prime Video released the official trailer for the highly anticipated new adult animated series The Mighty Nein, the second collaboration from The Legend of Vox Machina creators Critical Role and Titmouse. The preview roll calls the land of Exandria’s last hope: “a homeless wizard,” “an inebriated goblin,” “a shipwrecked sailor,” “a cocky ringmaster,” “a temperamental monk” and “chaos incarnate.”

The Mighty Nein follows a group of fugitives and outcasts, bound by secrets and scars. But when a powerful arcane relic known as “The Beacon” falls into dangerous hands, they must learn to work together to save the realm and stop reality itself from unraveling. The series will premiere on November 19, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

The trailer was revealed during the series’ New York Comic-Con panel “Critical Role & Prime Video: A Decade of Adventure and The Animated World of Exandria.” The panel featured cast and executive producers — Laura Bailey, Matthew Mercer, Marisha Ray, Liam O’Brien, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe, Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham — in an exclusive conversation about what’s next in their expanding universe. Panel attendees got the inside scoop on the upcoming animated series, exclusive look at the series trailer, and a special look ahead at Campaign Four of Critical Role’s flagship real-play show.

Prime Video also revealed additional guest voice stars for The Mighty Nein, which includes Anjelica Huston, Lucy Liu, Nathan Fillion, T’Nia Miller, Felicia Day, Graham McTavish and Ivanna Sakhno.

The celebration of 10 incredible years of storytelling culminated with a surprise appearance from Wayne Brady, who will be joining The Legend of Vox Machina Season 4 as Taryon Darrington. Audiences were treated to exclusive clips from Season 4 and news of additional guest cast featuring Kevin Michael Richardson, Debra Wilson and musician-comedian Tom Cardy.

The Mighty Nein is an Amazon MGM Studios, Critical Role, and Titmouse production for Prime Video. The series stars Critical Role founders and cast members Laura Bailey (The Last of Us: Part II), Taliesin Jaffe (World of Warcraft), Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us), Liam O’Brien (Marvel’s Avengers), Matthew Mercer (Baldur’s Gate 3), Marisha Ray (Fallout 76), Sam Riegel (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Travis Willingham (Marvel’s Avengers). The Critical Role cast serves as executive producers alongside Tasha Huo (Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft), who also serves as showrunner, and Titmouse’s Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse), Shannon Prynoski (Fairfax), Antonio Canobbio (Star Trek: Lower Decks) and Ben Kalina (Big Mouth).
