SC Film announced today that it has acquired sales rights to the Spanish-produced CG-animated family feature Buffalo Kids, and will be presenting it among its slate at the American Film Market (AFM) from November 11-16. The pic was released theatrically by Warner Bros. in Italy, Spain and the U.K., earning more than $9 million in box office.
Synopsis: The historical comedy-adventure centers on two orphaned Irish siblings who embark on a wild cross-country adventure in North America, and encounter a path laden with heroes and villains in their quest to find a new home.
Buffalo Kids is directed by Pedro Solis Garcia (Strings) and Juan Jesus Garcia Galocha (Mummies), written by Solis Garcia with Tad: The Lost Explorer scribes Javier Lopes Barreira and Jordi Gasull. The English-language voice cast is led by Stephen Graham (Adolescence, Snatch), Gemma Arterton (Grand Prix of Europe, Quantum of Solace) and Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones).
The film debuted at Annecy Festival 2024 before launching in Spain in August of that year. Production companies are 4Cats Pictures, Altresmedia Cine, Anangu Grup, Little Big Boy AIE and Mogambo Productions.
