The Animation Showcase, the free streaming platform for industry members and now students the opportunity to watch acclaimed indie films from around the world, has announced the release of its 2025 Best Animated Short Film Collection. Celebrating festival favorites and awards season contenders, the collection is available to watch worldwide from now until the Oscar Shortlist Announcement on December 16.
From Paris to Los Angeles, with stops in New York, San Francisco, Portland, Montréal, London and more, The Animation Showcase travels the world every year to bring a special collection of shorts curated for some of the greatest animation studios. This collection reuniting the best of 2025 is now available online for the entire animation industry!
This year’s line-up includes frontrunners for the upcoming awards season from leading studios like Cartoon Saloon’s Éiru and animation legends such as Aaron Blaise’s Snow Bear, as well as indie animators such as this year’s Annecy Festival Cristal winner The Night Boots, along with other festival darlings including Studio Croma’s Playing God, winner of Tribeca Film Festival and Animayo International Film Festival, and SXSW Film Festival winner Retirement Plan by John Kelly.
This must-see shorts presentation during the awards season will be followed by new bonuses, making-ofs, Q&A and featurettes, as well as animated features exclusively available to stream on The Animation Showcase platform.

The Animation Showcase streaming platform specializes in spotlighting and promoting the best creations from the animation community. In addition to streaming animated projects, the industry-only platform curates the best short films from filmmakers around the world and gives an opportunity to the animation and motion pictures community to discover or rewatch feature films for a limited time.
The platform was previously used to screen to the industry the three-time Oscars-nominated animated documentary Flee, as well as A24’s Academy Award-nominated stop-motion feature Marcel the Shell with Shoes On and IFC’s nominated feature Memoir of a Snail, and was also used to release worldwide War Is Over! and The Windshield Wiper, both Oscar winners for Best Animated Short Film.
