‘AI-Powered’ Animation Studio Spiridellis Bros. Inks Partnership with Parry Gripp

Parry Gripp, the kids’ music artist and songwriter behind the internet hit bops “Raining Tacos,” “Space Unicorn” and “Baby Monkey (Going Backwards on a Pig),” has entered an exclusive partnership with Spiridellis Bros. Studios, the “AI-powered animation” shop recently launched by JibJab and Storybots creators Evan and Gregg Spiridellis.

The animation duo previously commissioned more than 70 songs from Gripp for their multi-Daytime-Emmy-winning kids’ series Ask the Storybots and the theme song for StoryBots: Answer Time.

Under the new deal, Spiridellis Bros. acquires global rights to develop characters and stories pulled from Gripp’s full song catalog to create a new ‘Parryverse’ of family entertainment content spanning digital shorts, TV projects, games, toys, live events and more. Gripp will also join the studio as a partner.

The partnership will officially kick off with a “Welcome to the Perryverse” event as part of a global virtual concert on the Roblox games platform on November 28. Gripp’s song “Raining Tacos,” released in 2012, went viral from 2014 to 2019, and became a hit with Roblox players. Following the concert launch, Spiridellis Bros. will roll out Perryverse content across social platforms including YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.

Gripp has been the front man for SoCal “geek rock” band Nerf Herder since the early 1990s. Showcasing his children’s songs and accompanying animated music videos, his YouTube channel boasts 1.56 million subscribers tuning in to his 250-plus posts, which have racked up hundreds of millions of views.

In addition to his work with StoryBots, Gripp has written theme songs and original tunes for series including Disney’s The 7D (also series composer), Ben 10: Omniverse (Cartoon Network), The Super Hero Squad Show (Marvel), Phineas and Ferb (Disney), Waffles + Mochi, Emily’s Wonder Lab (Netflix), Lily the Unicorn (Prime Video) and Hoops & Yoyo (Hallmark).
