Today, the European Film Academy revealed the nominees for nine further categories of the 38th European Film Awards, including European Animated Feature Film. The nominations were announced in front of an audience at the iconic Real Alcázar of Sevilla, following the 22nd Seville European Film Festival. The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on January 17, 2026 in Berlin, Germany.
The eight-title shortlist for Animated Feature has been narrowed down to five worthy nominees, with the optimistic sci-fi tale Arco scoring an additional nomination in the Young Audience Award category alongside two live-action competitors. Since last year, the nominees in the animation and documentary feature categories are also eligible for the EFA’s top prize: Best European Film.
