ohm:tv’s Barcelona-based digital media division is set to launch Loko, a new YouTube channel dedicated to edgy animation geared to teenagers and young adults. Program titles will include Petey & Jaydee from Momentum Animation Studios, Toy Matters from Hampa Studios and The Adventures of Wankboy and My Teddy Bear is Trying to Kill Me from Mobstar Media.

Loko is described as a comedy lab featuring cult series and new animated properties from independent animation studios around the world. The brand will also be launched as a mobile TV channel, a branded WAP portal and branded TV slots, and will be available on various VOD platforms.

Momentum has made a quite a few 45-second Petey and Jaydee shorts, which chronicle the misadventures of two ferocious little aliens who share an insatiable curiosity. Featuring ‘scathing black humor,’ the CG-animated films are made for teens and adults.

Toy Matters is about a gang of seven stuffed animals that endure a series of unforeseen and mostly lethal events while leading their simple, but reckless, toy box lives. The series of 13 one-minute toons can be compared to Mondo Media’s Happy Tree Friends and is tailored to teens and young adults.

Also geared to teens and young adults, My Teddy Bear Is Trying to Kill Me is a series of ten one-minute shorts that tell the story Sweet Amy, who loves her Teddy to death, even though lately he has been trying to cause her death. The little blood-thirsty creature has been possessed with evil and will stop at nothing until Amy’s corpse is buried out in the woods six feet under ground.

A bit more on the adult side is The Adventures of Wankboy, a series of one-minute clips about a young caped crime fighter with a lot of spunk. Using his radioactive super sperm, our hero takes down various dastardly villains in a bid to protect the fine people of his fare city.
