PorchLight Ent. has issued a casting call for kids to emcee its recently launched KidVideos.com, a user-generated content site. The family entertainment company is also recruiting ‘camcorder reporters’ from around the U.S. to cover fun and interesting topics for kids, including concert events, fashion, kid comedians, culinary talent, whiz kids and other talented tikes. The site currently features more than 500 user-generated videos with new entries being added every week.
Described by PorchLight as a YouTube for kids, KidVideos.com provides a kid-safe platform for videos and programming created by the growing number of children interested in film, video and animation production. The site provides a television-like viewing experience, while also hosting monthly contests to recognize the best pet videos and music videos from kids.
The PorchLight offices in Los Angeles have been busy auditioning a stream of boys and girls to become the new faces of KidVideos.com. The selected hosts will let viewers know about new events on the site, and give kids personalities with which to identify. The company is also conducting an extensive nationwide search to fill the roles of regional camcorder reporters, scouring major cities including Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, Seattle, Austin, Boston, Portland and Miami.
Los Angeles-based PorchLight Ent. has built a distribution library of nearly 200 movies, more than 1,000 episodes of children’s programs and a growing non-fiction and music programming library, which includes shows such as Tutenstein, Jay Jay the Jet Plane, Four Eyes and Adventures from the Book of Virtues.
