Multi-platform kids’ program service Kabillion has partnered with Little Director, creator of a new interactive animation technology that allows kids to create animated movies from their drawings. Kabillion’s free online broadband site (Kabillion.com) today launched a feature that has kids create drawings and submit them to Little Director.com, where the company’s proprietary technology converts them into short animated movies, complete with music soundtracks, for a fee.
Drawings created on Kabillion and submitted through its website can be developed into a 90-second film with two characters at a cost of $19.95, more than 50% off the standard price. Minutes and characters can be added for an additional fee, and movies are viewable on Kabillion and can be delivered by mail on a DVD.
‘Kabillion was conceived with the goal of being thoroughly interactive with its audience,’ says Kabillion CEO Bill Schultz. ‘The ability to allow our audience to create their own animated movies online using Little Director technology is another great step forward for us; I expect parents will also get a kick out of seeing their kids’ faces light up when their own creations come to life.’
‘
If you thought kids loved animated movies before, imagine how great they’ll feel as the creator of their own show,’ adds Royi Akavia, founder and director of Little Director. Akavia is an accomplished artist who studied under Salvadore Dali. He developed the technology as a means of further connecting with his son through their mutual love of cartoons and a shared aspiration to create animated videos.
Kabillion is currently available to digital cable subscribers nationwide on Comcast Cable and Bresnan cable systems across the U.S. The service is owned in part by Taffy Ent., East Coast-based REMIX Entertainment Ventures and Germany’s EM.Ent.
