VIZ Media’s animated feature film Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow will play in Cineplex Ent. theaters in Canada for one day only on Saturday, June 23. Advance tickets are now on sale for the special, nationwide event and can be purchased online at www.cineplex.com and at participating Cineplex Ent. theatre box offices. The movie will be presented in high definition with surround sound.
Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow is the first feature film to emerge from the Naruto property, one of the most popular and successful manga and anime franchises in North America. A box office hit in Japan, the movie continues the exploits of a young boy named Uzumaki Naruto, a ninja in training who is cursed with the spirit of the nine-tailed fox demon sealed within his body. Though he is bullied and experiences discriminated from his fellow villagers, Naruto is resilient and his determination often inspires those around him. Through his adventures, he learns the importance of friendship, teamwork, loyalty, hard work, creativity, ingenuity and right over wrong.
The kid-targeted, animated Naruto television series boasts millions of loyal fans on Cartoon Network and the Teen-rated manga version (published by VIZ Media) has become one of the best selling and most popular graphic novels in North America. The manga series also won the 2006 Quill Award for Best Graphic Novel, a first for the manga genre.
Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow will open in 162 select AMC, Cinemark, Regal Entertainment Group and Georgia Theatre Company theaters in the U.S. on June 6 at 7 p.m. (local time).
