MTV is set to debut a new animated searis titled Anton & Crapbag as part of a new initiative to launch short-form content across multiple platforms, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The clay animation comedy will be made available on mobile platforms and will also get some airtime on cable network MTV 2.
Anton & Crapbag centers on two clay-animated characters who try various Jackass-esque stunts that inevitably end in disaster. New two- to four-minute installments will debut weekly at 10:58 p.m. on MTV2 beginning this month. In May, a half-hour compilation special will air simultaneously on MTV2 and on the MTV live-streaming linear television channel on Vcast TV. The special also will air on MTV Tres.
Other short-form programs developed as part of the program include a hip-hop trivia game show dubbed HoodFab, which aired last week on MTV2 and MTV Jams, and Damien’s Other Show, a biweekly blend of man-on-the-street comedy bits and sketches hosted by TRL‘s Damien Fahey. The 13-episode slate is available via MTV Mobile and will debut on mobile carriers AT&T, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Alltel and Helio, as well as on MTV.com/ontv/shorts/.
