Shadow of the Colossus Makes Play for Big Screen

Sony has hired Iron Man 2 scripter Justin Marks to write a screenplay for a bigscreen adaptation of the Playstation 2 hit Shadow of the Colossus.

The game, released in 2005, was developed in-house at Sony Computer Entertainment and was a smash hit, according to Variety.

The game’s story follows a man named Wander, who must defeat 16 enemies in a wasteland future in order to bring a girl back to life.

In addition to Iron Man 2, Marks has penned a number of comic book adaptations including Suicide Squad, Hack/Slash and Green Arrow: Escape from Supermax, as well as He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and a remake of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

The Scorpion King’s Kevin Misher is in talks to produce the film.
