Winnipeg-based kids IPTV system Ameba has signed with Barcelona-based Sol 90 to distribute the Spanish-language animated series Great Civilizations on AmebaTV.com. A portal designed to deliver children’s entertainment directly to viewers via the internet, AmebaTV.com will offer all 260 minutes of Great Civilizations in a variety of program lengths from interstitials to full episodes. Targeting kids 8-12, the show was created to inspire children to learn more about the great civilizations of mankind.

AmebaTV.com allows parents and caregivers to take control of their children’s viewing habits. Titles are selected from the AmebaTV.com website and downloaded to the Ameba set top box. Children then select titles from this filtered list to watch on TVs with one simple click. AmebaTV.com will be introduced to other distributors and content holders at MIPCOM in Cannes later this month.
