Comedy Central Plans Drawn Movie

Comedy Central is giving the direct-to-DVD feature treatment to one of its more popluar cult series, announcing the production of Drawn Together: The Movie!

The feature, which will be released by Comedy Central Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment in March, will feature series creators Matt Silverstein and Dave Jeser as writers and executive producers.

The series, which gathered several animated characters into a Real World-style reality show setting, was the network’s first original, 2D animated series. It debuted in 2004 and ran a total of 36 episdoes over three seasons.

More details on the movie will be announced at a Comic-Con panel set for Thursday, July 23, from 7-8 p.m. in Room 6BCF. The panel will feature Silverstein and Jeser, as well as voice actors Cree Summer, James Arnold Taylor, Abbey McBride, Jess Harnell and Tara Strong.
