The animated feature 9, released this week by Focus Features, used Santa Monica-based Margarita Mix to record its voice tracks.
Jeff Levy recorded the sessions on a Fairlight Constellation mixing console, working with director Shane Acker on the project.
The cast included Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Martin Landau and Christopher Plummer. While the majority of recording took place in Margarita Mix’s studios on Lincoln Boulevard, Plummer was recorded over an ISDN connection from his home in Connecticut.
The animated feature film is based on Acker’s Oscar-nominated short film. Its producers include Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov.
