Tim Gunn is ready to make it work on the big screen for The Smurfs.
The fashion consultant best known as a mentor on the reality series Project Runway has joined the cast of the live-action/CG-animation hybrid film, which is currently shooting in New York.
Gunn plays an executive assistant at a major cosmetics company in the film, according to Variety.
The film also recently added several well-known voices to its cast of Smurfs, including John Oliver of The Daily Show as Vanity Smurf, Kenan Thompson as Greedy Smurf, Fred Armisen as Brainy Smurf, B.J. Novak of The Office as Baker Smurf, and stand-up comic Jeff Foxworthy as Handy Smurf.
Raja Gosnell is directing the film, which features in live-action roles Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays of Glee and Hank Azaria as the villainous Gargamel.
And just to whet everyone’s appetite for this, here’s a peek at Azaria as Gargamel.
Smurfs is set for release on Aug. 3, 2011.
