Pixar has nixed its plans for the feature film Newt.
A report on the Pixar blog posts an email from Walt Disney Co. archivist representative saying the film has been canceled. The news confirms rumors that had been swirling since February that the movie would not be made.
Newt was first announced in 2008 and scheduled for release in summer 2011. Gary Rydstrom was directing the film and writing it with Leslie Caveny, a writer and producer from the TV series Everybody Loves Raymond.
