Atari today announced that it is revisiting its catalog of old-school favorites with Atari Classics Evolved for PSP. Developed by Stainless Games Ltd., the release will feature such long-time favorites as Asteroids, Battlezone, Centipede, Millipede, Lunar Lander, Missile Command, Super Breakout, Tempest, Warlords and Pong, in both their original forms and ‘evolved’ versions with updated graphics. Fans can look for it at retail this fall.
In addition to the 11 evolved classics, more than 60 original Atari 2600 titles will be available for handheld gameplay. These include Yar’s Revenge, Night Driver, Canyon Bomber and Crystal Castles. Atari Classics will feature online Leaderboards for the original 11 coin-op games so players around the world can compare scores, and will also feature peer-to-peer wireless compatibility for titles that have multiplayer capabilities.
