DIC Ent. has named Kevin ODonnell to the newly created position of Sr. VP of creative affairs. He will work directly with the companys chairman and CEO, Andy Heyward, as well as chief creative officer Mike Maliani to complement DICs ever-expanding library of animated programming.
ODonnell, co-founder of high-end development and multimedia production outfit Poets Road, has moved his company to DIC headquarters and has been charged with overseeing concept and script development for all television programming. He will develop original properties for the U.S. programming block, The DIC Kids Network, and for the companys international distribution pipeline. Under ODonnells leadership, the company is currently working to create CG shows such as Stan Lees Super Seven for the upcoming season.
In addition to developing and producing classic animated series, Mr. ODonnells responsibilities will extend across all media as the company moves aggressively into interactive entertainment.
ODonnell began his production career at Dick Clark Prods. and first partnered with DIC as creator of the popular PBS childrens series Libertys Kids and the hit Nickelodeon toon Super Duper Sumos. He has produced and/or written numerous interactive games and programs including his co-creation Adventures of Hyperman, which airs Saturday mornings on CBS.
