Disney Channel has recruited two execs to its program planning team. David Levine joins as exec director of program planning and Penelope Jewkes has come aboard as director of program planning.
Levine will oversee the development and implementation of programming strategies for Disney Channel and ABC Familys new action-oriented Jetix block. Based at Disney Channels Burbank headquarters, he will report to Disney Channel programming VP Scott Garner.
Jewkes will be responsible for the programming strategies related to Disney Channels preschool programming block, Playhouse Disney. She will also be based in Burbank and will report to Levine.
Most recently, Levine served as VP of business affairs and development for Ragdoll Ltd., where he was responsible for developing and implementing business strategies for the U.K. companys properties including Teletubbies and Boohbah. In addition, he served as general counsel at The itsy bitsy Entertainment Co. and held positions at Marvel Ent.
Jewkes previously served as a senior content producer at Fisher-Price where she developed learning toys for such properties as Disneys Winnie the Pooh, The Wiggles, SpongeBob Squarepants and Blues Clues. She also held production positions at Nickelodeon.
