One Piece Day ’25 Reveals New ‘Heroines’ Anime Announcement

Over two energetic days at Tokyo Big Sight, One Piece Day ’25 brough together fans for a one-of-a-kind celebration of the globally popular anime and manga franchise One Piece, created by Eiichiro Oda. The fourth edition featured immersive exhibits, major celebrity appearances, and live performances. Portions of the main stage program were streamed live on the One Piece official YouTube channel globally and simultaneously translated into English.

Inside the main exhibition hall, fans were transported into the One PIece universe through 3D displays, original illustration reproductions and one-of-a-kind photo op experiences. The event also marked the first-ever appearance by LEGO Japan Ltd., which presented a LEGO One Piece showcase capturing the world of the Netflix live-action series. The exhibit featured brick-built recreations of scenes from the show, along with an interactive fan mosaic activity.

Another major debut was the flagship One Piece Base Shop exhibit, where attendees previewed upcoming product lines ahead of the store’s grand opening this winter. Other features included game booths, a gachapon corner, exclusive merchandise displays and a “FAV” Card Lounge, a special One Piece Card Game art exhibition

On the main stage, the crowd was treated to a live performance by theme song singer Hiroshi Kitadani, followed by a surprise appearance from Iñaki Godoy, who plays main character Luffy in the live-action series. During the Netflix Series One Piece Special Stage, Godoy shared a first look and behind-the-scenes stories from Season 2. Godoy also shared his excitement that Season 3 has been officially renewed.

The voice cast — including Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Ōtani (TonyTony Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin), Katsuhisa Hōki (Jinbe) and Reiko Takagi (Jewelry Bonney) — joined as well, in a live voice-over special stage that brought together key players from the ongoing Elbaph Arc to reenact iconic scenes and share exclusive production stories and rare insights. Key scenes from the Egghead Arc were performed on stage, including Luffy speaking about his “end of dream” and the emotional flashback between Kuma and Bonney. (Takagi shared with the audience that she was in tears the moment she first received the script.)

The anime adaptation of the popular One Piece novel Heroines — which follows the adventures of the series’ bold and beloved female protagonists including Nami, Robin, Uta and others — was officially announced, along with the reveal of its key visual. Plus, mega-fans had a chance to flaunt their trivia expertise in the 7th One Piece Knowledge King Finals: Paramount War.

The event concluded with One Piece Day ’25 Special Live, a star-studded musical finale featuring Hiroshi Kitadani, muque and Chameleon Lime WhooPiePie performing a special One Piece opening and ending themes medley. Additionally, fans received a video message from GRe4N BOYZ — the artist behind the current opening to the Elbaph Arc, “ANGEL & DEVIL.”

The musicians were joined by the Egghead Arc voice actors, Godoy, and other guests for a group performance of the fan-favorite “We Are! ” The festivities hit a crescendo with a video appearance by Mayumi Tanaka, the voice of Luffy. Tanaka brought the celebration to an close with Luffy’s signature line: “You all are my nakama [crewmate]!”
